Established in 1963, Vieille Matériaux is a family-owned company based in Étalans, France, specializing in the manufacturing and distribution of construction materials. With a commitment to innovation and sustainability, the company has evolved from supplying basic materials like sand and cement to producing advanced building solutions. In 2016, Vieille Matériaux expanded its operations by introducing a new production line dedicated to hemp concrete blocks at its Mérey-sous-Montrond facility. This led to the development of the BIOSYS interlocking hempcrete block system, launched in 2017. BIOSYS offers a simplified construction process without the need for glue or mortar, making it ideal for new residential and public buildings. Recognizing the importance of sustainable renovation, the company introduced the MULTICHANVRE hempcrete block in 2019. Available in various thicknesses (10, 15, 20, and 30 cm), MULTICHANVRE is designed for interior and exterior insulation, particularly suited for restoring damp stone buildings.
