Howells is an award-winning British architectural and urban design firm founded in 1990 by Glenn Howells. Known for its expertise in masterplanning, residential, mixed-use, workplace, and public buildings, the practice recently rebranded but continues its commitment to sustainable innovation. Notably, in 2011 they designed The Triangle, a 42-unit development in Swindon featuring timber-framed homes with cast hemp-lime (hempcrete) external walls, finished in lime render—earning RIBA National and Sustainability awards. This project demonstrates their ability to integrate bio-based, low-carbon materials within larger-scale, high-performance housing projects.
