Established in 2018 and headquartered in Hamilton, Ontario, the Canadian Hemp Farmers Alliance is a farmer-led cooperative that operates hemp-based farms and provides a range of services—including cultivation, processing, financing, insurance, loans, equity, carbon-credit facilitation, seed and fiber trading, and agribusiness support—to its network of 250+ hemp growers across Canada and the U.S.
In addition to its operational roles, the Alliance participates in lobbying efforts with the Canadian government around hemp research grants, regulatory frameworks, and market development initiatives (registered as a lobbyist from 2021 to 2022). Its advocacy also extends to supporting United Nations SDG goals through sustainability-focused hemp projects in bio-plastics, building materials, fuels, and food production.
