Federation of International Hemp Organizations (FIHO) is a global nonprofit coalition established in 2022 by leaders of 20 hemp organizations across 50+ countries. Based in Calgary, Alberta, FIHO unites industry experts to harmonize standards, coordinate resources, and advocate collectively for industrial hemp policy, research, and sustainability. Their working structure includes committees for communications, policy and regulation, research and standards, and sustainability. FIHO’s activities include releasing global position papers—such as one on hemp in livestock feed in August 2024—and partnering with ASTM International to adopt standards for ensuring product quality and safety across sectors like textiles, food, fiber, and building materials.
