Fibres Recherche Développement (FRD) is a French research and innovation company established in 2008, dedicated to the valorization of plant fibers for use in materials such as panels, insulation, concrete, plastics, and composites. As a Technological Resource Center, FRD brings together the majority of French natural-fiber producers and processors, aiming to promote sustainable construction and the development of bio-based materials. The organization operates FRD-Lab, the first French technological platform dedicated to the extraction and characterization of natural-based fibers and coproducts for material end-uses. FRD offers a range of services, including supplying manufacturers with materials and fiber samples, providing technical support to fiber processors, assisting in the development of R&D programs, and offering a complete range of biobased reinforcement materials tailored to specific product specifications. Their expertise extends to the design and development of innovative materials, analysis and quality management, and support for R&D project development.
